In every generation, God will choose people whom he is delight with and make preparations in advance to help mankind live in happiness. "Long Journey— Linda Din's Cashless Revolution" originated from a very ordinary incident – a report that a taxi driver was robbed in 1986. It was like a mustard seed deeply planted in Linda Din's heart. Eleven years later, she really brought her invention to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and gradually attained the E-Commerce Bill, allowing the transaction tool -- "TranSmart Chip" to form a non-cash (Cashless) transaction system. During the COVID-19 epidemic, the transaction volume reached more than US$ 30 trillion to help hundreds of millions of people, and also laid the foundation for developing the industry of artificial intelligence.

While artificial intelligence brings new opportunities, it also brings social and economic challenges. It will reshape the entire economic society, and digital products will become a part of you; when you enter the world of creativity, industries such as fashion, film, music and software are superheroes. You can instantly travel between Japan and Morocco and talk to Hayao Miyazaki and Sanmao at any time. These industries can not only accumulate wealth , they are also transforming areas such as education, finance and healthcare. However, the most important thing is still: "the ethical use of artificial intelligence technology."

No matter how attractive the "technological output value" is, what we cannot ignore is the "Humanistic Value". Nowadays, almost all taxis have been upgraded to achieve the mission goal of the originator. However, this revolution continues because the value of creativity is obvious, but digital literacy still needs to be improved and the digital gap still needs to be filled. Therefore, as early as 1998, when Linda Din gained the E-Commerce Bill, she immediately advocated the "EI" (Economic Institute) to compile teaching materials with international counselors from the economies. In addition to professional courses, the most important thing was the "Code of Ethics". Hoping that everyone can make good use of the new tech-economic system and achieve the common prosperity of society.

Ultimately, we know that new science and technology will continue to evolve. Whether artificial intelligence will benefit or harm humanity will depend on how our relationship with it is shaped. Today at the APEC meeting in Peru, the economies finally reached a consensus: "Develop a new education plan that integrates art and technology." While policymakers, businesses, innovators and others may see these relationships play out differently, we believe in ensuring that human innovation remains front and center in the creative economy and, in turn, as a civilization’s collective role and interest . After all, culture is the source of creativity, something uniquely human. By adhering to the Code of Ethics, establishing a quality awareness through ethical use, it is possible for human beings to live in peace and happiness in the new era.

The book "Long Journey— Linda Din's Cashless Revolution" analyzed how Linda Din accepted the Call, stepped out of her comfort zone, and made social responsibility investment -- creating new industry in order to solve those structural social problems. When she served as a speaker at APEC based on her invention to promote the e-commerce industry and further to create the highest output value in human history. Then she faced difficulties and obstacles unimaginable by ordinary people, as well as challenges from the enemies of an open society. Her firm faith allowed her to enjoy the peace of the stormy sea, and live to see the future world she shaped, bringing new hope to hundreds of millions of people.

The purpose of this book is not to praise the output value of science and technology, but to focus on the level of "Universal Concern". Original technology and its industries are definitely beyond the reach of ordinary people. The wisdom of creation comes from the will of the Most High, and the driving force to adhere to mission goal also comes from Him. Linda Din originally wanted to solve a social problem, but suddenly she caught the total solution to the structural problem. She overcame all obstacles and moved forward, and finally promoted the four major revolutions of "Monetary, Industry, Channel, Employment", and also gave mankind a new way in the face of the crisis. The zero-contact economy can still operate during the COVID-19 pandemic—this is a testimony of God’s love for the world.

This book is divided into six chapters, each chapter has 7 sections, totaling 42 sections and approximately 380 pages. The six chapters are: "C1: The road to innovation, C2: Linda Din's invention, C3: Achievements on the international stage, C4: Difficult journey, C5: Social responsibility and philosophical thinking, C6: Review and prospect." Here are excerpts from each chapter's contents as follows:

C1: The Road to Innovation

The story of Linda Din begins with a very ordinary incident -- in 1986, the news reported the tragedy of a taxi driver being robbed. However, this incident became the catalyst for her to create a "Contactless" non-cash transaction system. This innovative technology quickly attracted attention around the world and changed the world's payment methods and business models. Her invention not only subverted the payment method for public transportation, but also had a profound impact on the field of e-commerce, allowing the global transaction system to rapidly evolve.

As a speaker at APEC 1998 in K.L. Malaysia, Linda Din gained the "Steering the E-Commerce" and supported US President Bill Clinton's e-commerce executive order. Linda Din’s cashless (non-cash( transaction system has achieved remarkable success around the world, with annual transaction volume exceeding US$ 30 trillion. At a recent conference in New York, representatives from various countries said that “It will be difficult for such a high-value invention to appear again in human history." But behind the success, Linda Din's social responsibility investment is full of unknown hardships and challenges.

C2: Linda Din's Invention

Including hardwares: "2-1: TranSmart Chip and its Reading Device; 2-2: Vending Machine Operated by A Chip Card; 2-3: Entry Security Device; 2-4: Electronic Payment Device for Transportation; 2-5 : Power IC Embedded Card; 2-6: The eStore System.” Since it was brought to the APEC 1997, it has been widely recognized and accepted. In addition to introduction by publishing the books, all of them have patents and intellectual property rights and have been cited by well-known companies such as Disney/ Hitachi/ IBM/ Panasonic/ VISA/ Wal-Mart.

The eStore System (TES for short) is a new tech-economic system. It was invented by Linda Din in 1986 to solve the global structural unemployment problem. The other "2-1~5" are all inventions to achieve system operation. Therefore, it is called "Multilateral Trading System". When Linda Din was invited to serve as a speaker at APEC 2003, she proposed a project called "Global Channel-TES", which won the best practice of addressing the needs of SME exporters and was called the best guide to help 240 million people start their own businesses. (During the COVID-19 pandemic, the new tech-economic system known as zero-contact has reportedly helped 1.5 billion people make the world’s money at home)

TES started with a small contactless "TranSmart Chip" and brought the world from contact to contactless, bringing a large number of new job opportunities. In order to demonstrate the first two inventions, the ATM and the vending machine were specially integrated into a smart machine "VAM" (Vending Automation Manager), and then construct an "electronic store" (eStore), as well as related contactless devices. Those devices form a systematic operation, and its application scope covers all areas of human life such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, education and entertainment.

The software part is "2-7: TSCM (Transaction & Transmission Supply Chain Management System)" -- this is a large-scale management software system that took more than ten years to write, it's from the consumers take contactless/cashless chip cards to approach the eStore, which transaction information will be automatically transmitted back to the ICT control center. After information computing, the supplier will be automatically notified to replenish the goods through logistics. The content includes purchase, sales, inventory, monitoring and managing four flows (money/ goods/ logistics / information); recently, artificial intelligence (AI) has become widely known and has been called "the Best Application Field of AI".

In short, Linda Din's invention is a cross-century social responsibility investment industry. In addition to triggering the revolutions of  "monetary/ industry/ channel/ employment", it also realized the "Technification of Traditional Industries" and the "Intelligentization of Technology Industries", it covers a wide range of every corner of the civilized world and lays a foundation of AI development.

In the 1990s, Linda Din used to explain the importance of her inventions to public through self-funded "Science & Future Lectures" and "Advanced Industry Incubation Seminars", and through helping the MOEA to complete "Small and Medium Enterprises Touring Service Train". On June 2, 2000, the R&D Results Presentation was officially held in the Auditorium of Aerospace Industrial Development Corp(AIDC).

Particularly, the Walt Disney, which was stuck in business transformation, announced in 2008 that it would invest US$1 billion to improve its ticketing and shopping systems over a five-year period -- the improvement was entirely within Linda Din's intellectual property rights (IPRs).

Reference value: Since 2013, Disney's theme parks have utilized a new tech-economic system, generating annual revenue of approximately US$ 24.5 billion.

C3: Achievements on the International Stage

Linda Din has been promoting “E-Commerce Bill/ Micro Business/ ICT (Information and Communication Technology)/ IPR/ Best Practice”, etc. in APEC for six consecutive years since 1997. She has served as an APEC speaker for two terms and achieved the cross-century e-commerce industry and non-cash transaction system to completely change the way humans live in the 21st century and create hundreds of millions of new job opportunities.

* Speaker at APEC 1998 to gain "Steering the E-Commerce"

As the new Tech-Economic System (TES) had been recognized by the economies as a strategic industry across the century, coupled with the aura of the APEC proposal for E-Commerce, the market value of PCH Holding Co., Ltd. was as high as US$ 60 billion; if we could focus exclusively on the United States and directly list on the NASDAQ International Select Market with the help of the two major investment banks Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, the world would definitely be very different from now.

C4: Difficult Journey

Starting from scratch and realizing an invention is not the most difficult part; Linda Din's company suffered serious robbery since January 27, 2001, and after a series fierce attacks by corruption, she was mobbed until she was beaten to the ground and became terminally ill on the 23rd, in November 2004. The corrupt jackals threatened: "We won't let you live past 2004!" Fortunately, she began to hold tightly to the hand of the Most High in 2003, and she survived the corruption crackdown in 2005 and 2006 at the most "powerless" moment. When she was unable to run her own business and get the rewards she deserved, she watched her invention being brought to the APEC CEO Summit 2006 to shine and win satellite support for the world.

Then, she accepted the Call to do religious research and discovered that there is a "Strength of Powerless" that can change the world. Furthermore, she contributed the way of "Rebuilding the Global Economy" to the APEC CEO Summit 2009, to help people get out of the financial abyss.

C5: Social Responsibility & Philosophical Thinking

1985 was the year when many people first experienced the pain of unemployment. Linda Din empathized with those needy and tried to improve this social problem. In 1986, she really stepped out of her comfort zone to start a business and founded a social enterprise. After solving a hundred unemployment problems, she found that there was still thousands of people need work. Coupled with the non-cash concept in her mind to solve the problem of "taxi drivers being robbed", she was inspired to capture the e-commerce diagram during a meditation retreat.

She called the implementation of these affairs to solve dilemma as "Social Responsibility Investment" (SRI). When she was an APEC speaker, she advocated "corporations must have social responsibility" on the podium, which was widely recognized and accepted.

When she was doing religious studies, she read "Calvinism" and found that Calvin's concept of creating jobs was connected with her concept of social enterprise. While read that Moses said: "Do not mistreat an alien or oppress him; do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan." – It’s a social responsibility, which is consistent with her point of view. She finally knew that the mission she was living out had a theological basis.

In addition, while read the "Weak Theology" preached by the American structuralism philosopher John D. Caputo -- in a distant and strange country, there is a loosely structured and weak collection. A kingdom without sovereignty, where the only power allowed is "powerlessness"; she came back from Zhongli and said to me: "I discovered that there is a kind of 'the Strength of Powerless'."

In his book "The Insistence of Art: Aesthetic Philosophy After the End of Metaphysics", Caputo proposed the concept of "a more extensive economy of power"; this concept involved the understanding of power, economics and rethinking morality challenges traditional notions of power. He emphasized the expandability of power, called for the integration of ethics, morality and humanistic concerns into economics and politics, and paid attention to vulnerability and difference. This perspective provided a more inclusive and humane views on understanding the distribution of power and resources.

Linda Din confirmed that her mission goal was well-founded. Due to the APECCEO Summit 2009, we went to Cui-Villa to visit former President Lee Teng-hui. President Lee read her best practice and said, "Ah, this is a major reform of finance and technology." President Lee invited her to participate in a one-year "Leadership Development Course" to guide her thesis "Lee Teng-hui's Christian Faith and Democratic Practice" that had enriched her spirituality and faith level, and she also understood that politics and economics cannot be partial.

C6: Review & Prospect

A humble "Daughter of A National Defense Employee—Linda Din" persisted in her mission and goal, moved forward all the way, and finally lived to see her invention benefit the world—not only taking care of the disadvantaged groups. It took 50 years for the telephone to reach 50 million users; 14 years for computers and 12 years for mobile phones; and social media platforms such as Facebook did it within three years. Recently, ChatGPT reached 100 million users in just two months. However, at the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, the number of "Non-Cash" (Cashless) transaction users instantly expanded to 1 billion users, and it is still increasing to this day. This is actually a housewife who transformed into a social entrepreneur, and has been doing the ministry for forty years.

Looking back on three years of starting a business during the authoritarian period, Linda Din used a small amount of "Youth Entrepreneurship Loan" to not only create a hundred job opportunities, but also had extra money to lend to the banks, and to help medium-sized enterprises navigate the crisis of bounced checks. However, she encountered extremely inhumane treatment in an open society and was ravaged by corrupt groups until not a single blade of grass was left. Only God is with her, preaching the gospel while watching the world enjoy her inventions.

In summary, the purpose of social responsibility investment is to "ask no return". In fact, helping so many people is like "accumulating treasures in heaven" -- which is the greatest return. As science and technology advance more and more, many people will be forced to retire from the workplace, especially the wave of artificial intelligence that will be more ferocious than the unemployment wave in 1985; therefore, let us find our own faith and courage from this book, let’s walk a new road that belongs to us and share this “love and faith” with more people. Facing the greatest difficulties and obstacles, persisting in faith is the long-lasting path, and you will see a bright future.
